First Day of Classes
Although most classes begin on Tuesday, September 8th, Physical Education Classes start on Monday, September 14th, Tuesday, September 15th and Friday, September 18th.
Unless indicated otherwise, all students who have registered for Physical Education should report to the Levien Gymnasium for their first scheduled class orientation. Following the orientation lecture by Professor Torrey, students will be given attendance credit and will also have the option of acquiring a daily lock/towel service for a fee of $38 ($20 will be refunded at the end of the semester for students who pass the course).
Students who need to take the swimming test will then proceed to the Uris Pool - bring swimming suits. Students registered for beginner swimming are not required to take the test.
Students who are participating on an intercollegiate team should register for the appropriate team section of Physical Education C1005—Intercollegiate Athletics. Athletes who register correctly and participate on a team receive a Pass; those who drop off a team in mid-term and still want academic credit must notify the Physical Education Office and be placed in an activity to complete the attendance requirement. Otherwise, the student must officially drop Intercollegiate Athletics or he or she will receive UW for a grade.
